Warbreaker - Loved the magic system, Nightblood, and Vasher. Hero of Ages - One of the best conclusions to any story I've ever read. Mistborn: The Final Empire - My first Sanderson book, and also the book that got me back into the fantasy genre. Words of Radiance - Possibly better than Way of Kings, but WoK holds a special place in my heart for introducing me to Roshar. Way of Kings - I'm a sucker for epic worldbuilding, and this was my first introduction to the Stormlight Archives. I go back and forth on some of these, but as of right now I'd say this is my list: What is truly amazing to me is that #10 is still a really damn good book, despite being last place here. Shadows of Self - feels like it'll be better in context of the conclusion, but asks more questions than it answers. Well of Ascension - much better on a second read, but the weakest of the original trilogy.īands of Mourning - love the Sterris character development in this one. Almost too many twists/reveals, but deeply satisfying.Īlloy of Law - great introduction to the gun slinging Mistborn books.Įlantris - I really like this book, but it does have some noticeable flaws. The Hero of Ages - wraps up the first Era magnificently. Way of Kings - first half is a bit sluggish, but the payoff is worth it. Really starts getting into the nuts and bolts of the world. Words of Radiance - I think it's the better of the two SA novels so far. The Final Empire - my first Sanderson book, allomancy is incredible. Warbreaker - some of the best character development in any of his novels. And Secret History will probably fit right below the original Mistborn. From what I gather, I'll probably put Elantris and White Sand (in that order) above Warbreaker. I haven't read Elantris, Secret History, or White Sand yet. Felt like many of Brandon's weaknesses were showing. I just had a hard time getting into this one. This might be higher than Well of Ascension, but that its hard to see that one without the context of the other two. And I see how Kelsier's death was necessary for the story, but he was the best part of the original book.

I've got complaints, especially centering around Elend. But I'm really not fond of Vin & Elend's romance development. This one might be higher than the first or second Wax & Wayne book. Also better humor and a more interesting world. Fantastic characters and better character development than the original trilogy, in my opinion. Each one is better than the one before it. Words of Radiance first, then Way of Kings.

I'm gonna group things together so the list doesn't get too long: It was a decent book, but compared to the other books on this list it doesnt come close. Mistborn: The Well of Ascension(Although its right below 6 on the list its waay below in terms of how much I liked it. If it were longer it would be ranked higher on the list.) The Alloy of Law(Another great first book.

It brought back the captivating story we were introduced to in the first book.) Mistborn: The Hero of Ages(Way better than the 2md book in the series. It might have the best 'aftertaste' of any of the books.) As time goes on and I think back on this book it grows on me more and more. Warbreaker(While reading this book I liked it allot but wouldnt of put it in my top 5.

Mistborn: The Final Empire(I love beginings to series and this was a great one) Its ranked lower because it doesnt have the initial experience you get when reading The Way of Kings.)

Words of Radiance(Just as good as the first if not better. The Way of Kings(Your first time through you realize you have stumbled upon one of the greatest fantasy series ever) Then I want you guys to do the same so I can get a feel for where the remaining books I have to read fall. I havent finished them all yet, but im gonna rank the ones I have read from best to worst(well not worst because none of them were bad).
